Tebrau Waterfront, Greenland Group, Iskandar Waterfront City

JOHOR BARU (August 4): Tebrau Waterfront Residences and Resort development will launch the first phase of its joint-venture project with China developer Greenland Group and Iskandar Waterfront City Bhd (IWC) in early 2016.

According to a Greenland spokesman, the first phase will have a land size of 4.46 ha, and comprises residences, retail podium, office block, and a children's theme park. The first phase is expected to be completed by 2019.

The initial plan shows a retail space of about 344,000 sq ft, and office space of 700,000 sq ft, he said. It will see the launch over 700 residential units with an expected starting price of RM800 per square foot (psf).

Details of the built-up area and layouts of the residential units are being finalised.

The 51-ha Tebrau Waterfront Residences and Resort Development, located on the coastal of the Straits of Tebrau, is divided into five phases, and will take 10 to 15 years to complete.

Aedas, the international architectural firm, is the designer of the waterfront project. In a press statement, executive director Steven Thor said Tebrau Waterfront will be the latest international flagship development of Iskandar Malaysia, following the success of Puteri Harbour and Medini Precincts in Nusajaya.

The integrated development comprises high-end residential apartments and waterfront villas complemented by commercial and retail buildings. Notably, there will be a resort hotel with its own exclusive marina.
