Country Group Securities linked to Jho Low’s father, says defence

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): The defence in Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak’s 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) trial has revealed that Thailand-based Country Group Securities Pcl, which was involved in the flipping of a RM5 billion Islamic medium term notes (IMTN) issued by the fund in 2009, is linked to Tan Sri Larry Low Hock Peng — the father of fugitive Low Taek Jho.

AGC to appeal against leave granted to Najib and Shafee to remove Gopal Sri Ram

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 6): The Attorney General's Chamber (AGC) will file an application for leave to appeal in the Federal Court against the decision by the Court of Appeal which granted leave to Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his lead counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, to start a judicial review application to remove former federal court judge Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram (pictured) from prosecuting the former prime minister in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.
