Deputy public prosecutor Harris Ong Mohd Jeffrey Ong told High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan today that Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) had only informed them yesterday that the inspection can only be done on weekends and not weekdays.

Mahdzir, who is the fifth prosecution witness in the trial, disagreed with a suggestion from Rosmah's counsels Datuk Jagjit Singh and Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader that the appointed law firm had “brokered” a deal for him.

Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan called for the lunch break, with proceedings originally set to continue in the afternoon as Rosmah's lawyer Datuk Jagjit Singh had yet to finish his cross-examination of the fifth prosecution witness, former education minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.

Senior lawyer Datuk Jagjit Singh for Rosmah at the High Court said Mahdzir's lawyer, one Datuk Vignesh, helped the former minister to cut a deal with Sri Ram as they both knew each other.

During his examination-in-chief by deputy public prosecutor Idham Abdul Ghani, Mahdzir said he had not solicited or received any bribe from Saidi for the solar hybrid project.

"Rosmah told me to follow the directions as stated in the minutes by Najib and did not want me to delay in the solar project matter."

In the recording, Najib was heard saying "Yes anything?" to which Rosmah retorted "Can I advise you something?"

The respondents, he said, argued that it had already been spent.

Shamsul Rizal Sharbini, 42, who is the prosecution's fourth witness, said at the end of 2016, he went to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Bintang here to deliver two bags to Rizal.

However, it remains to be seen which High Court judge would be hearing the case.
