KOTA KINABALU (April 23): The Housing and Local Government Ministry via the Local Government Department has allocated RM48.9 million to implement 330 projects for all the local authorities (PBT) in Sabah this year to ensure that the PBTs maintained their best service.

Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin said the allocation that had been approved up to this month was to enable all the PBTs in the state to resolve the problems pertaining to roads and drains in their respective areas.

"Thus, I hope all the PBTs in Sabah can speed up the implementation of the projects that had been approved to give significant impact and benefits to the people.

"This ministry is prepared to distribute additional allocation to the PBTs in Sabah provided there is a surplus in the allocation and that the PBTs had achieved the required performance in implementing the projects that had been approved," he told reporters after attending a Sabah PBT event, here last Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor, in his speech, said the provision of the annual grants to all the PBTs in Sabah was the third channelled to the PBTs since 2010. — Bernama
