Shahrol: MoF pressured into giving TIA govt guarantee to meet Jho Low's 'aggressive' deadline

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 24): The Ministry of Finance (MoF) was said to have been pressured into issuing the government guarantee for the RM5 billion Islamic medium term notes (IMTN), in order to meet a tight one-month deadline set by fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, according to the testimony by Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi, the ninth prosecution witness in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB)-Tanore trial, at the High Court yesterday.

‘Shahrol suggested that MoF takes over TIA’

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 18): Former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi was the one who suggested to Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak to take over the Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA) from Terengganu Menteri Besar Inc (MB Inc) to form 1MDB, the High Court heard yesterday.
